Research Interests

Professor Anilkumar’s broad research interests are in the areas of drop and bubble dynamics and acoustics.   His current investigations center on:  the studies of the dynamics of chemically reacting drops, solidifying drops and coalescing drops; the studies of drop-acoustic field interactions and thermocapillary migration of bubbles. His technical interests are in the design and development of:  experimental facilities, flow diagnostics and instrumentation.

Professor Anilkumar has been a Co-Investigator of the drop dynamics experiments  on the USML-1 and USML-2 Space Shuttle Missions (1992, 1995), and a Co-Investigator of the Pore Formation and Mobility Investigation (PFMI) and the  In-Space Soldering Investigation (ISSI) on the International Space Station (2002, 2004).
