  • Training in COEUS begins Oct. 26 for all faculty planning to submit transinstitutional proposals in which VUMC is the lead. COEUS is a research administration database which must be used beginning February ’07 by all faculty planning to submit Transinstitutional proposals in which the Medical Center is the lead. Shortly after the Medical Center implements COEUS, the University will implement it as a requirement for all University proposal development. The training program put together by the Medical Center Sponsored research Office is required of all University faculty and research administration staff. For more information: http://www.vanderbilt.edu/coeus/ or contact Carol Hachey carol.l.hachey@Vanderbilt.Edu

  • How to contact the Vanderbilt Police Department:

    • From a Vanderbilt extension (non-blue light) phone: Dial 911
    • From a cell phone:  615-421-1911
    • From a blue-light phone:  simply hit the call button

By dialing the above numbers you alert the VPD, who will send the appropriate emergency response vehicle(s) directly to your location. Finally, once the emergency has been addressed, please notify my office with the pertinent facts relating to the event. Unfortunately, if you dial 911 on your cell phone you will be connected directly to the Metropolitan Davidson County Emergency Response Center and the operators, not being familiar with Vanderbilt’s campus will have to contact VPD to determine the location or ask VPD to respond.  Help will eventually arrive, but we cannot afford the delay in response time which is so crucial in an emergency situation.
