The Fred Lewis Society
“It is not enough to want an engineering education—the desire must be strong enough to make one willing to work for it.” --Dean Fred J. Lewis
“Following the example set by my father and grandfather, I give back in order to strengthen the School of Engineering that had such an impact on us.” Joseph Flowers, BE’88
“My father offered me the opportunity to attend Vanderbilt, and it was an incredible experience. I would like to offer the same experience to other engineering students.” Fred Cassetty, BE’60
“As a scholarship recipient, I greatly appreciated the generosity of alumni who came before me. I want to be able to do the same for future generations of students.” Christopher Nash, BE’05, MS’06
The Fred J. Lewis Society is an exceptional, engaged group of alumni, parents and
friends who are dedicated to the support and advancement of the School of Engineering. Over the last 30 years, the generosity of Lewis Society members has helped fund projects and needs throughout the school such as improved facilities and equipment, increased scholarship and financial aid, competitive faculty salaries and the development of innovative research.
Many members choose to show their commitment to engineering education at Vanderbilt with a five year pledge. These donors receive special recognition in the annual Lewis Society list.
Annual giving levels for Lewis Society membership are:

Chancellor’s Council $10,000-$24,999
