The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Vanderbilt University invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level for Fall 2009. Exceptional candidates will be considered for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank. Candidates are expected to contribute to one of three research focus areas: biomolecular engineering, nanotechnology, and energy and the environment. A Ph.D. with a distinguished academic record is required. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and leading an externally funded, scholarly research program. Ranked in the top 20 nationally, Vanderbilt University is located on 330 park­-like acres one and one-half miles from downtown Nashville. The University has ten schools, which provide a full range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. Faculty share a commitment to excellence in teaching at all levels. Interdisciplinary research opportunities exist with faculty in many other departments within the School of Engineering, the College of Arts and Science, and the School of Medicine. Faculty Positions:
Mechanical Engineering Department Vanderbilt University

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University invites applications for one or more faculty positions to begin Fall 2009. Applications will be considered for positions at all ranks commensurate with qualifications.  Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline and have expertise and research interests that are synergistic with existing research areas in the department including combustion, microfluidics, nanotechnology, mechatronics, portable power, and robotics. Successful candidates will be expected to build a strong, externally-funded research program and make a significant contribution to the department’s research activities.  The candidate should also have a marked interest in and talent for teaching in both the undergraduate (B.E.) and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) programs.
