Project Title:

Software Design Project

Primary Investigators:

Professor Robert Reed

Brief Description of Project:

We need to design a collection of software tools that can be used to reduce, analyze, and plot consistently formatted data sets. The tools should be designed with good programming practices and extensibility in mind so that interpretation and modification of the code at a future date will be possible without undue burden.

This project is being carried out with the intent of replacing the existing analysis code, which was designed and implemented in Matlab. The new code should be written in an open-source language, such as Python, Perl, or a scripting language like bash or csh.

Furthermore, the program should only implement open-source third-party software for visualization.
