Nur Dayana Abd Rahman(Expects to graduate 2009 in EE)

Department & Program: Electrical Engineering

Outside interests/activities: Secretary of Malaysian Student Association at Vanderbilt (MSAV) Muslim Students Association.

Why Vanderbilt: When I first got the scholarship offer to pursue my engineering studies at Vanderbilt University, I had never heard of the name “Vanderbilt” before.  I went ahead and searched for this name and found out that Vanderbilt University is ranked as one of the top universities in the country with a very good reputation and is also affiliated with several research institutes.

Likes best about Vanderbilt Engineering: What I like best is that students are able to communicate with their professors not only during lectures but also out of class. Although some of the professors are busy doing research, they are still able to spend some of their precious time with their students. Apart from getting a great academic experience at Vanderbilt, I could also develop some people skills across cultures that are important especially in the globalization era.
