Department & Program: Engineering Science

Outside interests/activities: I am involved in Vanderbilt Student Government (VSG), Vanderbilt Programming Board (VPB), Beta Upsilon Chi, and the Vanderbilt Water Polo Club.

Why Vanderbilt: I decided to come to Vanderbilt mainly because of all the people that I met when I came to visit.  I wanted to go to a school where I could get a great education, one that would give me some great opportunities, and where I felt like I could be friends with my classmates.  When I came to visit, I was overjoyed at how all of the students got along and encouraged me to come.  I felt like I instantly fit in and could be friends with all of them.

Likes best about Vanderbilt Engineering: What I like best about Vanderbilt Engineering is that there is not pressure to get an engineering job right out of college.  I have friends who will be attending law school, medical school, and going right into fields outside of engineering right out of college.  I will have an engineering degree when I graduate and I will always use the skills that I learned while getting it, but that does not mean I have to be an engineer.  I think that they provide you with ample amounts of opportunities to pursue almost anything you want to be.
